![]() The Imac was originally running with an 1To Seagate HDD, fusion drived with a 128Go Apple SSD blade.īut troubles came after the Imac was set up and running. I've upgraded a late 2014 27' 5K iMac with an Crucial MX500 1To SSD. IMac 27 5K late 2014 unstable after SSD upgrade Hi, Is it time to break down and accept there is some hardware fault? I thought it was crashing attempted to wake from sleep so I told it never sleep and never turn the screen off, and it still crashes. When I look in the console there are never any crash logs. I have now seen every crashing iMac screen that apparently exists (many of which I have no idea existed). It appears in terminal I have no 3rd party kernel extensions. ![]() I have nothing but a wired mouse and keyboard attached and have installed no 3rd party software. I have erased and reinstalled about 3 times. I have continued to have problems after I use the computer for 2-3 days and (probably unrelated) as soon as I put some files back on the hard drive. I then erased the hard drive in recovery mode and installed Catalina. They started again and the computer would no longer boot, and sometimes not boot into safe mode. I upgraded to Mojave and they mostly resolved. About 2 months ago I began to have display issues, long booting times, and crashes.
